" In spite of the fact that we continue to lose streams, or segments of streams, due to acid mine drainage, acid precipitation, poor logging practices, dredging, and road construction, trout fishing is much better today than it was in 1966 when we moved to West Virginia."

-Ernie Nester

Please accept my gratitude for visiting our KVCTU website as it gives me just one more opportunity to give back to the sport that has given me so very much.

If you are pleased with what you see, if you have just the slightest interest in the pursuit of trout, or even if you are a seasoned veteran, consider getting involved with us. I can guarantee that you will get back a lot more than you put in. All of us have joined together to say thanks to the trout. Thanks for letting us catch them and thanks for sometimes not catching them. Each experience provides a window to a better picture of our place in the grand scheme. Our mission to conserve, protect, and restore the magnificent Trout Fisheries of Wild Wonderful West Virginia is what we offer to share. By doing so we feel strongly that we can pass this treasure to our next generation, just as our fathers before us did.

Did You Know?

TU National states that TU Chapters donated 125,000 volunteered conservation hours last year. Our yearly financial report shows 9,314. That equals out to be 7.45% of all of TU's volunteered conservation hours specifically came through KVCTU. With 150,000+ volunteers from more than 400 chapters across the world those are some impressive if not groundbreaking numbers.
